Nov 27, 2018 1:14 PM

Southampton Town Police and officers from the East End DWI Task Force arrested three drivers during “saturation patrols” on Friday night between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Officers pulled over 28 vehicles for traffic infractions and screened their drivers for alcohol use during the operation, arresting two Riverhead men and a Hampton Bays resident.

Canel Valerio-Zet, 46, of Riverhead was pulled over at 12:18 a.m. on County Road 105 in Riverside for failing to stay in his lane of traffic. He failed a field sobriety test, police said.

At 1:20 a.m., on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, police pulled over Harol Zappata-Borrero, 44, of Hampton Bays for making an illegal U-turn. Upon interviewing him, the officer determined that he was intoxicated.

About the same time, on Flanders Road near Royal Avenue in Flanders, an officer pulled over Kener Gozalez-Hosollos, 25, of Riverhead for failing to stay in his lane of traffic. He failed a field sobriety test.

All three men were charged with misdemeanor DWIs and were held for arraignment.
