
A Pennsylvania man was struck and killed by a non-passenger Montauk-bound train near Southampton on Sunday morning.
Michael Tymon, 34, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was struck by the train at approximately 1 a.m., according to a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson, who said that the MTA Police are continuing to investigate the incident but that “no criminality was involved.” A more specific location of the accident was not provided by the MTA Police.
Train service was suspended in both directions between Speonk and Montauk between 1 and 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to the spokesperson.
The medical examiner was on scene, according to the MTA website.
Southampton Village Police referred all questions to the MTA Police.
