Apr 9, 2019 3:40 PM

A 56-year-old Springs man was held at gunpoint early Thursday morning, April 4, after two men wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts entered his home through a locked basement door, according to police.

East Hampton Town Police said they are investigating the home invasion burglary, which took place at 2:58 a.m. on Norfolk Street.

The resident had his hands tied behind his back while the two men with handguns demanded cash and ransacked the home, before fleeing with “unknown proceeds,” police said. The victim, who was uninjured, was able to free himself and call 911.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the incident was still under investigation. Anyone with information has been asked to call the East Hampton Town Police Department at 631-537-7575. Police said all calls will be kept confidential.
